Bob, good luck on your climb. Glad to see you are still doing the climbing thing. Intesar
Bob, Have a great trip. Enjoyed seeing the DVD of a friend's trip up Carstensz. Sorry I missed seeing you before you left. Best of luck to you.
Rob, the Rockies are going to the World Series - YAHOO!!! I don't know where in the world you are right now (literally!), but I wanted to pass on the good news! Good luck, keep safe, and we all love you. Love, Julie

So please post this update for me as the FreePort mine
here in Timika has my Blog site blocked. It is Wed.
7:30 PM and it looks like we will leave early in the
AM to drive through the mine to get to CP basecamp!
Me and the boys are having a beer or 2 here at the
Sheraton Timika built primarilly to support the mine
folks - read $$$. It is by far the niceest place
around. So to basecamp in the AM - a day of
aclimitization and then ~3AM summit climb - should be
about 6-7 hours. Then back to Timika and thne flight
back to Denpasar where I will start the Komodo island
tour. I will try and update you again from the hotel
before I leave Timika. No other intenet in Timika
that seems available.
Cathryn will get a kick out of this but I was at DIA
for a 9:45PM flight except i arrived for an AM flight
(old age and stress happens!). I took and earlier
flight and spen the afternoon with my Cuz Will, his
wife Mai, and there new little girl Lilliana!
Ofcourse we watched the Rockies/sports just like 'ol
times! Found out that one one of my climbing buds,
Mike Morley is renting a room from Bill so had some
great climbing action to catch up on! Mike has been
one of the driving forces behind 'Mountain Project!'
Nice job Mike, gerta to see you and best of luch with
school, we will catch up later!
Had some free time in Jakarta but the boys, Daniel,
Paul, Felix, & Egor decied we would go in to town
(from the airport hotel) to eat dinner. The
nationalities are German, Austrian, Spanish/New
Jersey, and Russia respectivily! Great Guyz with some
great adventure stories, most from the finance world,
but egor does logistics in Eastern Russia.
Kimberly from Frontier get special mention for helping
me with my lugage tarcking number and getting that
number to China Airlines! Thanks Kimberly!
I better go as we are susposed to eat dinner even
though we ate this incedible seafood dinner withe the
best damn wild prawns (& they were really wild!) I'ver
ever had!
Plenty of updates when I get to Bali but look for next
post in a couple of days!
Go Rocks! My best.

First of all I am well and resting here in Bali. I had a terrible experience with the Internet as I lost hours of work on my blog post as Blogspot only seems to be serviced by Google and not Yahoo. The Indonesian only adds to the confusion. My apologies.
I will experiment later with a new Google address.
Here is a brief update:
RECORD 2 DAY ASCENT AND DESCENT OF CP ON OCTOBER 20TH!!
Entire team made historic 2 day summit and descent of CP! We reached the summit at 9:30AM after a 6 hour very technical climb. The highlight was a Tyrolean
traverse over a ridge-line notch just before the summit.
I am going to try and post just what I wrote as I lost
a good hour+ of streaming consciousness detailing our
amazing climb! Note above explanation - I will work
out the kinks by tomorrow. This comes to you via
Julie post!
My best. Bob
Congrats, Bob!!
